Good afternoon everyone, Sam here! We flew all the way to “Ghana” for our “African” themed lesson on “African Music and Instruments”. We started our fun lesson with “The Hello Song”, which is an ILH original, The children love singing along to this song and know all of the words. The next song we danced to was the “Bananas of the World Unite” song. For our main topic today, we looked at “African Music and Instruments”. We start this topic by listening to some music and trying to guess what instruments were being played. Next, we looked at some instruments including “Djembe”, which is a type of drum, and the “Double Bell”. Finally, we moved onto our activity, where made our own “Djembe” drums. The children were so creative with their designs. Awesome work everyone, have a great “Silver Week”.
