Hello readers, Joshua here! It’s been a while! Today at Spring Camp, we did a mix of our week 1 and week 2 themes, “Brilliant Bugs” and “Colors of the Rainbow”. In the morning, we danced to the ILH Hello Song, which is always a hit! Then we reviewed the names of colors. We looked around the room and talked about the different colors we could find. Then, we did a color stamping craft. First, we inflated and tied up some plastic bags to make a stamp with a unique pattern. The kids used them to paint flowers and fireworks. Then, we took long pieces of yarn, soaked it in paint, placed it on the canvas in a wavy pattern and then pulled it downward. This created a flower-like pattern! It was a bit messy but we had fun.
In the afternoon, we danced the Monkey Dance to warm up. Then we went outdoors to find smooth, round rocks. We painted them and turned them into ladybugs and bees. We used different techniques to get the patterns right, and they turned out great! See you next time!
