Spring Camp (Day 1)
Welcome to Spring Camp! We have lots of exciting things happening this year. We start our first week talking about bugs in our cleverly titled week, “Brilliant Bugs”. In our second week, we are going to focus on beautiful colors and rainbows, in our week named “Colors of the Rainbow”. Finally, we are going camping in our last week named “Happy Campers”.
But to start our first day, we are introducing all things bug related by looking at some common bugs. We started by looking at some bugs the children already knew such as “Butterflies” and “Spiders” and then some new bugs such as “Dragonflies” and “Bumblebees”. For our first activity today, we made “Bug Silhouette Paintings”. The children enjoyed using lots of different colors and making different bug shapes.
After lunch time, we had our second circle time for today. We danced to the superhero song and learned more about bugs, specifically their different shapes and sizes. For our second activity, we became bug hunters. The children were each given a net and then they had to catch pictures of different bugs hiding outside of the school. Great work bug hunters!
