Saving Greenland’s Sea Animals!

Hello! Joshua here! Today’s circle time was packed with physical activity and learning! We started with the ILH Original song, Helping Hand. The students that were with us yesterday remembered the dance moves well, and those who learned them today were really good! For our lesson’s first half, we learned about cleaning up and sorting garbage. Bob was in Greenland today and was sad because garbage was floating in the sea. So, in our first game, we cleaned up the sea and helped Greenland’s marine animals! The kids sorted plastic bottles, paper and paper cups into the right bags.

For the second half, we learned about the sea animals that we helped. They are all animals found in Greenland’s seas. To name a few, the “Greenland whale” which can live up to 400 years, the “bearded seal” which is known for its long whiskers, and the “Bigeye tuna” which is known for… its big eyes! We played a fishing game after that, which was in a relay style. We “caught” the animals and released them back into the sea. See you next time!
